In the most current CWA Newsletter we are being asked to participate in the "CWA Presidential E-Poll"
which is up and running. They are asking us to tell them who should we
endorse for President. The goal is for every local to have at least 10 per
cent of its membership participate by voting online at
www.CWAVotes.org.
CWA will send updates to our locals about how many members have voted as of
October 17th and October 30th, as well as a third tally on November 13th.
The voting deadline is November 9th. Active participation represents CWA
democracy at work. Let's show that CWA Local 7019 is LOUD and PROUD.
Please share this information.
In solidarity,
Thomas Sandoval
The next Legislative Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at 6:30pm here at the CWA Hall. We are in the process of revitalizing this committee. This committee meets once a month (every third Tuesday) at 6:30PM here at the hall for at least an hour to discuss current legislative issues not only important to our local but also to our labor movement. So, come join us. Hear what's happening to the working class and the struggles we face. See you then. Also, the link on the cover pager titled "Summary of Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) is great reading. As we grow closer to the general election in 2008, we are asking the presidential candidates what their plan is to make the "Employee Free Choice Act" a reality and prevent it from becoming a filibuster. We want these candidates to share with us their plan to restore the workers freedom to form unions before we decide who will get our endorsement. Listen to the candidates who speak often about EFCA and how often they mention the word "Union" in the speeches. This might be the candidate that you may want to consider voting for. Just a thought. In solidarity, Thomas |
